Sven Noack ( Owner & Master Baker )
I am a third generation master baker originating from Berlin, Germany. I began my apprenticeship at the age of 17 in my grandfather’s bakery. Over the next five years, I worked fulltime training under my grandfather’s watchful eye and learned the skills and recipes of the past generations. At the age of 23, I became a certified Master Baker and was named the youngest person in Germany to qualify for such a title.
On September 1st, 2017, I will celebrate 30 years of baking experience. Over these years, I had the pleasure of taking my skills internationally. I travelled to Canada and America gaining valuable experience learning new techniques, modern recipes and bakery management skills. After that, I moved to Japan where I stayed for seven years running a German style bakery, in one of the most popular areas in Tokyo. I met my wife while living there and we decided to begin our lives together in Australia.
Upon our arrival in Perth, I began working for a franchised bakery where I became quite knowledgeable about the Australian culture, food and types of bakery products. After one year of living in Perth, we moved to the Sunshine Coast and began the journey of running our own company, The German Bakehouse.
My wife and two young children enjoy helping with the business and I look forward to passing on my baking knowledge to the next generation, as my family did before me.
